Getting Started: Sit comfortably and close your eyes gently. This is a gentle introduction to watching your thoughts without being swept away by them. Simple Observation: Notice when thoughts appear in your mind. Instead of following the thought or engaging with its content, simply notice: "thinking is happening." Like Watching Clouds: Treat thoughts like clouds in the sky - they appear, drift by, and naturally dissolve. You are the sky, not the clouds. When You Get Lost: It's completely normal to get caught up in thoughts. Simply notice when this happens and gently return to watching without judgment. Building the Skill: With practice, you develop the ability to remain as the peaceful observer while thoughts come and go naturally. Daily Integration: Try to catch yourself during the day when you're lost in thought, and remember you can always return to this peaceful watching.
